FAQ (Eng)

What you probably asked yourself once. Here are the answers.

  • What is 120film/medium format ? It is a type of film, you can only use in cameras like Lubitel, Diana, Holga, Semflex, or Hasselblad. It makes 6x6, square pictures. You can shoot either 12 views, or 16 views with one roll.
  • What’s redscale?  Redscale is a negative film that has been wound in to the canister the wrong way. The emulsion is exposed through the base of the film. It gives a “sepia”/”red” style to your pictures.
  • What is cross processing?  Cross-Processing is the name given to the technique of processing film in the wrong chemistry (i.e. processing print film in slide chemistry or vice versa). Cross-Processing can do crazy things to your images like shift colours and give vivid saturation.
  • Why my slide xpro are over-exposed? X-pro (Cross-process) usualy over-expose the film during the processing. so a little trick is to set your camera on 200asa if you shoot with a 100asa slide film.
  • What is ASA/ISO?  ASA/ISO  refers to the sensitvity of a film, 25asa being the less light sensitive film which needs to be shot in sunny daylight, and 6400asa being a very sensitive film which needs less light to be shot.
